2020 May New and improved features - v23

LogAlto New and improved features - May 2020

The following new features have been released as part of our V.23:

  1. Possibility to enter % indicators that don't add up values between periods
  2. Possibility for Administrators to manage user profile permissions directly through LogAlto
  3. Possibility for Administrators to manage project statuses
  4. Replacement of "Public Forms"
  5. Possibility to assign a user to an indicator

1. Possibility to enter % indicators that don't add up values between periods

When you create an indicator, there are three different indicator Types that you can choose from.

  • Quantitative: ideal for numerical indicators. When you select this type of indicator, the Relationship between progress and overall cumulative values will be dependent.
  • Qualitative: you can establish the wording for each indicator stage. When you select this type of indicator, the Relationship between progress and overall cumulative values will be independent.
  • Percentage: can be used to track percentage indicators. When you select this type of indicator, the Relationship between progress and overall cumulative values will be independent.
Explanation on the behavior concerning the Relationship between progress and overall cumulative values:
Dependent: when values are dependent this means that the progress values (what was achieved during that period) is added up, to establish the cumulative value (what was achieved overall)

This is the standard LogAlto behavior up until now. The values in progress are added up to constitute the values in the Cumulative column. So if I have trained 300 people in year 1, and then I train 50 people in year 2, my new cumulative value is 350.

The Rate is calculated taking into consideration the last value over the final target (450/700)

Right click on the image and select "Open image in new tab" to view larger

Independent: independent values have no relationship between the progress and the cumulative values. LogAlto will not make any calculations  In the example below you can see that there's no addition that is made between the progress and the cumulative values. Sometimes it increases, sometimes it decreases. The Rate column is calculated using the last entered value (35: my last cumulative value/80 my final target)

Right click on the image and select "Open image in new tab" to view larger
Same: in this case, LogAlto will replicate whatever was entered in the progress or cumulative column to show the same value in both columns

When you select Same, LogAlto will copy the values from progress into cumulative and vice versa.

 2. Possibility for Administrators to manage user profile permissions directly through LogAlto

Through a new section of LogAlto, called LogAlto Admin, administrators to LogAlto accounts can have access to making a wide array of changes, such as editing user profiles and project statues.

In order to access LogAlto Admin, you need to first contact us to ensure that the feature is enabled in your account and that we agree on which existing user profiles should have access to this feature.

Once the feature is enabled in your account, you can go to the Configuration menu (gear icon in the top right menu) and select the Settings option.

You will see different sections that you can access depending on the changes that you wish to make

To edit user User profiles click on the Profiles card.

You will see a list of the different profiles that exist within your LogAlto account. This will be different for each organization.

By clicking on the pencil icon next to each profile, you will be able to make edits to the access rights that this profile has.

Type Determines whether the profile has access to all features (web application) or data collection only (mobile app)
Scope This determines at which "level" within LogAlto the user is nested. Depending on your structure and whether the security by project is active or not, this will determine what the user can and can't see. For example: you may have users who see their project only, users who see their region or sector and users who see everything.
Name This is the name you choose to give to the specific user profile.

Example of user rights structure:

 3. Possibility for Administrators to manage project statuses

Administrators can make changes to the options for "Project Status" This will allow you to create new statuses in addition to the existing ones, modify existing ones or even delete unused statuses.

In order to make changes to the Project Statuses you need to access the LogAlto Admin section by clicking on Settings

 4. Replacement of "Public Forms"

When you create your form, it used to be possible to select "Public" as the privacy. This has been removed in order to ensure that forms are ever only shared with the people who need to have access to them. You can always still share your form with all users if this is the need, but you'll need to do this through the "Share" screen after publishing your form.

5. Possibility to assign a user to an indicator

It is now possible to assign a specific user to an indicator.
