LogAlto Notifications
LogAlto supports two types of notifications, email and in-app notifications.
- In-app notification: Users will always receive in-app notification that is shown as red number on the bell icon next to the logged in user profile picture).

- Email notification: They are only sent if the option is enabled by the administrator when creating the user.

Activity Notification
Each day, the system will send notifications based on the current status of each activities. For each activities, you can manage who recieves notifications by configuring the user profile.
The following actions will trigger a notification:
- Activity status change (sent to all users with access to the project).
- An incomplete activity reaching its end date.
- Activity date approaching a configured deadline (e.g., notification 5 days before the start).
- Activity start date.
File Generation
When the user request the generation of file, LogAlto will process the exporting of the files in the background. After, The system will notify the user that requested the file when an error was encountered during exportation or when the file is ready.
Currently the modules that use background file exporting are:
- Custom form: A template that will match the current structure of the custom form will be generated to import the records.
- Production de rapports: Exporting of data for a report. The notification will be sent to the user with a link to the file, when the exportation was processed successfully or if an error was encountered.
Importing Files
When the user provide an Excel file to import data, notifications will be sent when the importing process is completed with success or if there are any encountered errors.
Currently the modules that allow importing data using template files:
- Custom forms
- Indicator Library
- Indicator's actual values in a logframe
Comments Notification
The following actions will trigger a notification:
- When a user replies to the comment of another user, a notification will be sent to the author of the comment.
- When a user is mentioned in a comment/reply, all the mentioned users will be notified.
The commentary module may be enabled in the following modules:
- Activity
- Custom form records
- Document fields
- Logframe Indicators
- Logframe Objectives
Note: A user that no longer have access rights on the commented item, will no longer receive notifications about the item changes, even if he/she is mentioned.
Document
The following actions will trigger a notification:
- When a document in a project is created, a notification will be sent to all users who may perform an action on the project, based on their profile.
- When a document's status is changed, a notification will be sent to all users who may perform an action on the project, based on their profile.
- When a document ends today, or is due for today, a notification will be sent to all users who may perform an action on the project, based on their profile
To receive notifications for a document, your user profile or access rights must be linked in one of the following ways:
- Directly to the project
- To an org-unit associated with the project (ex: Country Office)
- To a parent org-unit of the project’s org-unit (ex: Continent Office, if applicable)
User Management
The following actions will trigger a notification:
- When a user is created by an admin, a notification will be sent to the newly created user
- When a user forgot his/her password, the system will send a notification to them in order to recover the password.
Form notifications
You can configure notifications for the custom forms you manage, enabling users to be notified whenever a record is created, updated, or deleted. For more details, please refer to this article.
