What is a numbered list?

A numbered list is a dropdown list where each option is assigned a number.

Assigning a number to each option allows LogAlto to sort (order) more logically the data when it is displayed in lists or charts:

• When a list is numbered, LogAlto will sort data according to the number: 0-Very unlikely, 1-Unlikely, 2-Likely, 3-Very likely
• When a list is not numbered, LogAlto will sort data alphabetically: Likely, Unlikely, Very likely, Very unlikely

Thus, this is generally useful when the options in the list have a logical order or gradation (like age groups or scales)

For example:

Create or configure a numbered list

First, go to the lists management page:

• Click the "gear" icon in the top menu
• Click "Manage system lists"
• The list of all system lists will appear

To create a new list:

• Click the + button
• 
• Click "Save" 
• Add options to the list using the "Add item" button
• Check the "Assign a numeric value" checkbox
• Enter the name of the list 

To add numbers to an existing list that is currently not numbered:

• Click the pen icon next to the list that needs to be modified
• The "Edit list items" panel will appear
• Check the "Assign a numeric value" checkbox
• For each option, assign (enter) a numeric value
• Click "Save"

Note that when importing form records using an Excel file, LogAlto will be able to import cells that contain only the number (and not necessarilly the text of the option).

How to use numbered list in the Analytics module

Note that in the Analytics module, you can use the values to sort the data or to make calculations (example: average) 

How to create numbered lists in a form

Please note that numbered list cannot be created directly in the Forms module.

However, you can:

1. Create the list as a "system list" (refer to the Create or configure a numbered list section above)
2. Then add the system list that was created to a form
