Create a report or data visualization using the Analytics module

The Analytics module allows you to analyze and aggregate data recorded in LogAlto.

  1. Create a report or data visualization
  2. Various tables, charts and maps
  3. Share a report with all users
  4. Export a report
  5. Refresh the dataset (if data is not up to date)

Create a report or data visualization

To create a new report:

  • Select "Analytics" from the main menu (left)
  • Click the "+" button
  • To create a new report you must:
    • Enter a title for the new report
    • Select a dataset (which data will be analyzed)
    • Choose a format (type of table, chart or map)
    • Click "Save"
  • A draft data visualization will be displayed
  • To configure your report:
    • Click on the toolbox icon to open the configuration panel (top right-hand corner)

    • Configure the report to fit your needs

    • Click "Generate" see the result
  • Click "Save" to save the report
  • If you access this report again in the future, it will be automatically updated to reflect any new data added. If you wish to keep the report with the current data, you must export it.

Various tables, charts and maps

The Analytics module lets you create different "output types": tables, charts and maps.

Tables:

  • Standard table (list of all the records)
  • Pivot table (matrix - allows to count and aggregate data)

Charts:

  • Pie chart 
  • Vertical bar chart
  • Horizontal bar chart
  • Line chart
  • Icon chart
  • Radar chart
  • Vertical stacked bar chart
  • Horizontal stacked bar chart

Maps:

  • Distribution map (to compare countries or regions)
  • Location map (to see the actual location of items)

Share a report with all users

Administrators can "share" a report with all users. This will also allow the report to be put on the global dashboard.

To share a report, the administrator must click "Share" in the visualization's menu.

Export a report

Charts can be exported as .jpg or .png files.

Standard tables can be exported as Excel files.

To export a report, simply click "Export" in the visualization's menu. 
If the report is a chart, you must also select the file extension, either .jpg or .png.

Refresh dataset (if data is out of date)

If new data has been added recently, the dataset may no longer be up to date.

If this is the case, you can refresh the dataset by clicking on the "refresh" icon under the report title.

On the right of the screen will appear:

This message will be displayed until the update is complete.
