OVERVIEW: Logframe

Logframe, Logical model, Results frameworks…

Whatever the name used, this tool describes both a general approach to project or programme planning, monitoring and evaluation, and – in the form of a ‘logframe matrix’ – a discrete planning and monitoring tool for projects and programmes. Logframe matrices are developed during project/programme design and appraisal stages and are subsequently updated throughout implementation while remaining an essential resource for ex-post evaluation.

The system allows you to create a  Global Logframe, which can stand on its own as an organizational logframe or be linked to multiple projects (like a program), and project specific logframes. Depending on how you set up your the goals, outcomes, outputs and indicators can be automatically populated for each project. Doing this allows you to aggregate the data entered at the different project level indicators globally.
